Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Go Time Events

We regretfully inform you the Paws on Parade scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2020 has been cancelled.
North Carolina Governor Roy Copper, in light of the COVID-19 global pandemic, has released new guidelines for mass participation events. The State of North Carolina is advising the postponement or cancellations of all events (including sporting events) with more than 100 people in attendance. Go Time, paws4people, and the North Carolina Azalea Festival intend to fully cooperate, following the recommendation of the State of North Carolina. As of this writing, no timeline for the resumption of events for more than 100 participants has been determined.
Here are options for participants:
Pick Up Your Race Shirt & Bib
Registrants are welcome to pick up their race shirt and bib at Packet Pickup on Friday, March 13th from 4:00pm-6:00pm, at Omega Sports, 3501 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC.
Run the paws4people Run at Home!
We’re now offering a “Virtual Race” for participants.
1. Just run any time before Sunday, March 15th at 11:59pm
2. If you pre-registered, still pick up your Race Bib and Shirt at packet pickup (information listed below)
2. Submit your finish time HERE. You will be added to the virtual results so you can still earn your bragging rights.
3. Registration is still open for people to support paws4people and participate virtually.
Refund Policy
The North Carolina Azalea Festival paws4people Paws on Parade is a charity fundraiser for the paws4people non-profit organization. Proceeds from this event directly helps the organization train and place Assistance Dogs with children, civilians & veterans at no cost to them. Funds raised from the event will help paws4people continue transforming lives.
Race Refund Policy:
- Refunds: There are no refunds, registration will be accepted as a donation.
Daily Practice of Preventive Actions.
We encourage everyone to continue daily practice of preventive actions.
- Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.
- Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects daily.
We understand the disappointment in cancelling these events as events across the country are cancelling as well.

ABOUT THE RACE:
It's the Official Dog Party of Wilmington! Come join paws4people and the North Carolina Azalea Festival for the 2nd Annual Paws on Parade. The event features a 5K and 1 Mile run/walk at Greenfield Lake Amphitheater hosted by paws4people. Friendly, leashed dogs are welcome to participate with their owners! After the race, be sure and stick around for the Paws on Parade event: The Official Dog Party of the Azalea Festival. Activities include a Puppy Kissing Booth, dog-friendly vendors, dog portraits, concessions, and Canine Court Pageant!
